Ivory Tusk Base Building

In 2001, Findorff completed work on the historic Ivory Tusk building on the corner of Wisconsin and Plankinton Avenues in downtown Milwaukee. This former Marshall Field's building had remained dormant for more than two years before Irgens Development Corp. put a major renovation plan together and selected Findorff as its construction partner.

While the facility's interior was largely demolished, original columns, ceiling finishes and terrazzo staircases were restored. The building's terra cotta exterior was also refurbished, while all windows, lighting and HVAC systems were replaced.

The completed renovation project created new retail and office space, along with a Marriott Residence Inn Hotel also constructed by Findorff.
