A new ready-mix concrete plant in Oregon was constructed to help bridge the gap between Lycon’s Janesville and Madison plants. McCoy Engineering designed the site, including the sixteen-bin aggregate storage facility, which is the hub of the industrial process. The unorthodox square shape of the aggregate bins (as compared to traditional round ‘silos’) created unique structural design challenges and required Findorff to form and pour thick shear walls over 40 feet in the air.
