Marquette University – College of Nursing

Milwaukee, WI
Higher Education
$34 million project cost
110,000 sq ft

Findorff partnered with Marquette University to overhaul Straz Hall, former home to the College of Business Administration, into a modern, expansive nursing education facility. Spanning five stories and over 100,000 square feet, the College of Nursing features a large atrium, auditorium, classrooms, lab spaces, and faculty offices, as well as several areas dedicated to student support. This partially donor-funded expansion of the nursing facilities is meant to prepare for an increased population of Marquette nursing students that will require learning environments for emerging areas of education such as telehealth and the mitigation of healthcare disparities. The project utilizes a European-based porcelain panel cladding system, Front-tek, and is one of the first projects in the USA to do so. Front-tek showcases various innovative capabilities such as its sustainability, its ability to withstand the tough Midwest climates we endure, and its resistance to fire, corrosion, and impact.
