This 15,500-square-foot Central Utility Plant serves Waukesha Memorial Hospital (WMH). The building is an addition to the south side of WMH and is composed of a multi-level concrete structure, with a brick and metal-panel exterior.
Work involved rerouting an existing road and corresponding utilities, new generators and chillers, as well as a loading dock for the plant. Findorff upgraded both the chilled water and emergency power system, allowing for better cooling and an updated electrical system with the capacity for the current hospital and beyond. The plant upgraded the existing hospital generator capacity from 3 megawatts to 7.5 megawatts — enough additional energy to power over 3,000 average households.
